Sophia Praetorius, 4th-year PhD candidate, joins the Globalization Chair

Sophia Praetorius is a 4th-year PhD candidate in Economics at the Globalization Chair at the Paris School of Economics and Sciences Po Paris, under the supervision of Thierry Mayer.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of International Trade and Industrial Organisation. In particular, she investigates the impact of inter-firm collaborations in technologies on multinational firms’ production decisions and the overall global production landscape, with a special focus on the automotive supply chain. The structural nature of her work allows her to conduct policy counterfactuals for both trade and industrial policies. Before joining PSE and Sciences Po, she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Mannheim, including studies at the National University of Singapore.
