Economics and Psychology Master’s program

The Master in Economics and Psychology takes place over 2 years, focusing on fundamental and advanced courses in each discipline. Priority is given to the use of research.

First year (M1)

The M1 is designed to provide a common training base for all students. Students with a background in psychology must choose teaching units preceded by: “Students with a previous background in economics must choose teaching units preceded by: “Economics”.

The M1 includes:

  • Boot camp: Intensive training in the basic tools needed to follow the program.
  • Specific courses.
  • Winter School: Learning research methods in psychology and experimental economics.
  • Common courses: Introduction to econometrics, game theory, cognitive science, applied microeconomics and research methods.
  • Research dissertation.

Second year (M2)

The aim of the M2 is to offer a bi-disciplinary approach, balancing the two disciplines.

Students must choose to enroll in either the doctoral or professional stream. Although not directly part of the program, students are strongly encouraged to do an internship (provided it is related to the research skills taught in the master’s program).

The M2 includes :

  • Fundamental courses: in-depth instruction in both disciplines.
  • Seminar: Economic and psychological research.
  • Choice of path: Professional or doctoral orientation.
  • Research dissertation.
