Pursuing a PhD at PSE

PhD students at PSE are part of the École Doctorale Economie Panthéon-Sorbonne (ED 465) and are enrolled in one of PSE’s founding institutions (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, École des hautes études en sciences sociales, École nationale des ponts et chaussées, École normale supérieure – PSL). They have a PhD supervisor who is a member of PSE, and follow a specific PhD training program. Affiliation with PSE is formalized through a bilateral agreement signed between PSE and the PhD candidate.

Students enter this PhD program after completing one of three master’s programs: APE, EP, or PPD. Applications are submitted by the prospective PhD supervisor. Only candidates with secured funding are admitted.
