The Measurement in Economics, Nowcasting – Beyond GDP Chair is the result of a partnership between the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies, Société Générale and the Paris School of Economics.
The aim of the Measurement in Economics, Nowcasting – Beyond GDP Chair is to contribute to the advancement of economic statistics methods. To this end, it promotes the mobilization of new sources and the development of very short-term forecasting tools (Nowcasting), and pursues the reflections initiated since the Stiglitz Commission on a more in-depth statistical measurement of economic performance and well-being(Beyond GDP). In both these areas, the aim is to better meet the expectations of private and public decision-makers and, more broadly, of social demand on these subjects.
