Research Chair : International Macroeconomics Chair

The International Macroeconomics Chair promotes the development of research on the architecture of the international monetary and financial system, and on international macroeconomics.

The International Macroeconomics Chair is the result of a meeting between the Banque de France and the Paris School of Economics.

Objectives

The aim of the International Macroeconomics Chair is to encourage the development of research in the following areas:

  • Money, monetary policy, and the international monetary system;
  • Financial integration and international trade;
  • Fiscal and budgetary policies, debt, default;
  • Growth, employment, and inequality;
  • Economic fluctuations and risk sharing;
  • Modelling;
  • Globalization.

Activities

Several activities are on the Chair’s program:

  • Organizing events to present and discuss work at the international research frontier;
  • Enhancing the communication between policymakers and macroeconomic researchers;
  • Foster the collaboration between researchers of the two partner institutions;
  • Inviting researchers from other internationally recognized disciplines to take part in teaching and/or research activities;
  • Funding doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers;
